My dog has been missing for 28 days and was found yesterday. She was missing on July 4th and found on July 28th! I received a call from a woman who thought she had spotted my dog. I immediately went to the place. There was my
dog! Other than being a bit scared and disoriented she looked fine. I took her to the vet to be checked and groomed. Although she had lost weight and had some fly bites on her ear, she was fine. She is currently home resting after being on the street for so long.

I want to let people know not to ever give up on finding their missing pet. Each day that passed I lost hope, but I continued searching. I registered on Pet FBi, checked the Animal Shelter daily, and plastered fliers everywhere. I went on any lead and tip that was given. My worst fear was that Phoebe, my dog, was going to have a traumatic ending to her life just as she had had a traumatic beginning.

Ten years ago I went to rescue a Huskey. I noticed this petite shaking Huskey hunched up in the corner of one of the kennels. I thought no one is going to take this dog. I took her wanting to give her a second chance...a chance at a happy loving home. Her history was that she had been severely abused and neglected. She was found in an airline crate with three other Huskeys. They were extremely malnourished. Phoebe is a full grown Huskey, but yet only 33 pounds. Her bones did not grow properly due to the lack of nutrition at such a young age. People coming to adopt the dogs always overlooked her. We immediately bonded. She slowly started coming out of her shell. She eventually made eye contact with me. Although it has been awhile, her past still haunts her. She will always be a very shy timid dog. She would never hurt anyone or anything, but is just weary of others. Each day I notice progress, even the smallest things. Like when she barked for the first time.

That happened only two years ago! Things that "normal" dogs do, Phoebe
doesn't or she is stunted. The day will come where she will leave this
world, and I am glad she is safe at home and I can be there holding and
comforting her when that unfortunate day comes. I won't have to ever wonder what happened to her. Don't give up...Keep Looking!
