Your $40 contribution, or $75 for couples, will include dinner and entertainment, including a visit with

be Sue Hagar.
There will also be live and silent auctions for wonderful spa packages, beautiful estate jewelry,
OSU and NFL football tickets, fantastic golf packages, hotel stays, gorgeous home interior items,

The rescue will be honoring Mary O'Connor-Shaver for her contributions to the rescue community.

Think only professional lobbyists can lobby? Think again! The Humane Society of the United States
invites you to attend a free Lobbying for Animals seminar where you can learn how to make a tremendous
difference for animals in Ohio.

The presentation covers everything you need to be a citizen advocate for animals. Learn basic, but
effective, lobby techniques. You'll also hear how a bill becomes a law, what influences a legislator and
what animal-related bills and issues we expect to be considered by the state legislature in 2008.

citizen lobbyist.

Get Political for Animals Seminar (Dayton) 

Julie Lewin will be providing a day-long seminar on how to effectively mobilize politically for animals.
She is a political trainer and organizer and a campaign consultant. She's been an animal rights lobbyist,
and animal rescuer, and a nationally published journalist.

At her workshop, you will learn how to:

* win laws and public policies that prevent animal cruelty.
* elect humane lawmakers.
* lobby for animals and make it count. 

Seasoned activists have described her workshops as "a life altering experience" and "the highest quality of
instruction I have received".

Cost will be $25 and includes a vegan lunch. Pre-registration is required. If you are unable to attend for
financial reasons, Mercy For Animals has created a scholarship fund to help. Contact Freeman at

Cash-4-Kibble
The Humane Society of Madison is holding its second annual Cash-4-Kibble on Saturday May 31st at
the historic Red Brick Tavern 1700 State Route 40 London, OH 43140. This dinner and silent auction
will feature many unique items. Cost is $30/single and $50/couple. Vegetarian dishes and cash bar
available. 100% of the proceeds go to help the homeless animals in HSMC's care.
